Irit Boxer, the ex-winemaker of Barkan Winery, and daughter of Shmuel Boxer, the ex CEO of Barkan, has been appointed the new winemaker of Ella Valley Vineyards. She will take over from Yaakov Oriyah who held the position on a part-time basis when previous winemaker Lin Gold left.

She worked at what became Israel’s largest winery during her father’s tenure there, now moves to a small winery producing wines from their Judean Hills vineyards. Ella Valley was founded in 1998 and produces 300,000 bottles a year. It is situated next to Kibbutz Netiv Halamed Heh in the Biblical valley of Ella.
