The WSET, Wine & Spirit Wducation Trust, situated in London, is arguably the most famous wine school in the world. There is now a branch in Israel run by approved WSET educator Gal Zohar. He is an international sommelier, wine judge, author of the New Israel Wine Guide and wine consultant. He has the WSET 4th Level Diploma and is currently studying for the Master of Wine. He has set up the IWSI – the Israel Wine & Spirit Institute and they run successful courses at different levels and scores of Israel have taken part and have already graduated. In a short time the IWSI has become the leading wine school in Israel – by far.
Now the WSET will be hosting some exclusive tastings and workshops at the Sommelier Exhibition, at the Mann Auditorium/ Habima Complex in Tel Aviv. This Israel's main wine trade show.
The workshops are led by wine professionals of the calibre of David Montefiore, manager of the wine department of IBBLS (owners of Tabor Winery & importers of Diageo), Deby Sion, ex education manager of the Golan Heights Winery, now working for Margalit Winery & Yael Sandler, international sommelier & winemaker – and evenYuji Fukai, Sake Sommelier of Tamanohikari. The subjects of the tastings are: Tempranillo, Syrah, Bubbles, Northern Italy reds, Chardonnay around the world, Welcome to the world of Sake & Bordeaux blends around the world.
The Sommelier Exhibition is on January 15th and 16th 2018.
