?La Revue du Vin, France’s most distinguished wine magazine, has selected four Israeli wines in the list of ‘the 100 Best Wines in the Mediterranean, between Spain & Israel’.

The four wineries represented are:

Domaine du Castel, situated at Ramat Raziel in the Judean Hills,

Flam Winery, situated at Eshtaol in the Judean Foothills,

Margalit Winery situated in the Sharon Plain, near Hadera,

and Saslove Winery, from Kibbutz Eyal and the Upper Galilee.

This represents a great honor for Israeli wine to be featured in such a distinguished list. It is even more interesting to contemplate that each of the wineries are a small family winery, founded in the last 21 years. Eli Ben Zaken owns Castel with his two sons, Ariel and Eytan. The Flam brothers, Golan & Gilad, own Flam Winery.

Father and son, Yair and Assaf own Margalit, and father and daughter, Barry & Roni own Saslove.

Much of the recognition of Israeli wine has come from American & British wine media, so this makes very welcome coverage from France.
