World's most exciting new wine shop lists Montefiore wines more »

Montefiore Red and Montefiore Petite Sirah have been listed by Hedonism, the prestige and deluxe wine shop in Mayfair, London.

The Montefiore Red 2012 is a blend of Malbec, Shiraz and Petite Sirah in the new Israeli Mediterranean style.  It represents excellent value. The Montefiore Petite Sirah 2010 is 100% Petite Sirah and is one of the finest Israeli wines from this grape variety.  Both wines are from the Judean Hills vineyards. The winery is an Israeli start-up which is a joint venture owned by Arnon Geva , Rachel & David Montefiore and the consultant winemaker is Sam Soroka, one of the most experienced winemakers in Israel.

Hedonism is one of the most stunning and professionally run wine shops in the world. It is relatively new and visually very impressive. Victoria Moore of the Daily Telegraph wrote: " If Tutankhamen had died in the 21st century, this is what his tomb might have looked like."  There are 3,500 different wines and spirits from fifteen pounds upwards and many of the world's most expensive wines are proudly on display. They are also available in rare sized format bottles and from old vintages. The professionally trained staff between them speak Chinese, Russian, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Japanese, as well as English, to cater for the international client, and they are all very highly qualified in wine.

The person who has put this all together is Alistair Viner, who was the Harrods Buyer for sixteen years. He is extremely knowledgeable, one of the top professionals in the industry and he has created a wine shop which is worth visiting just to browse and marvel at the unique selection and rows of beautiful displays. Hedonism is owned by Evgeny Chichvarkin who had the vision. It was Alistair Viner who has bought it to reality.

For followers of Israeli wines and for people looking for kosher wines, there is also an excellent, carefully chosen selection. The two wines from Montefiore, one of Israel's newest & most exciting wineries, join an impressive list of Israeli wines. Carmel, Castel, Clos de Gat, Dalton, Flam and Yatir, are some of the other Israeli wineries represented on the shelves. Covenant and Herzog wines are some of the other kosher wines listed.
