Two of the world's most prestigious and eagerly waited gatherings of the calendar year are taking place this year in October and November.
The New York Wine Experience organised by the Wine Spectator, took place in October at the New York Marquis Marriot Hotel.
This is open by invitation only to the leading wineries in the world. As has become the norm in the last 15 years, Israel was represented by Yarden.
Then there is the Decanter Fine Wine Encounter to be held in November at the Landmark Hotel London. There, the Israel representative will be Clos de Gat.
The Wine Spectator and Decanter are the world's two most famous wine magazines. The Wine Experience and Fine Wine Encounter are two of the most prestigious events held in the USA and the UK respectively. It is important for Israel that there is a worthwhile representative at wine gatherings of this stature.
Yarden-Golan Heights Winery was founded in 1983. It is situated in the small town of Katzrin high up on the volcanic plateau of the Golan Heights. Clos de Gat is an estate winery founded in 2001, situated in the Judean Foothills on the way to Jerusalem. Both wineries have reached the highest level of international recognition and Israel is proud to have them as ambassadors for Israel at these prestigious events.
