Recanati Winery has succeeded in having a wine selected in to the Top 100 Wines of the Wine Spectator. The successful wine is the Recanati Cabernet Sauvignon Galilee 2012.
This is a great honor for both Recanati and for Israeli wine. Up to now only Yarden has succeeded to be on their end of year lists. Kim Marcus, the Wine Spectator's Israeli specialist described the wine as: "A rich red, showing good power to the mineral infused dried blackberry, dark plum and currant flavors. Engaging dried herbal notes emerge on the focused finish." He scored the wine with 90 points. It is priced in America at US$17 a bottle and shows Israeli wines can also succeed at under US$20 a bottle.
Only last month Israel had two wines in the Wine Enthusiasts Best Value Wines of 2014: Har Chardonnay from Tabor Winery and Mount Hermon Red from the Golan Heights Winery. The Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast are the most popular, quality wine magazines in the United States.
