World's most prestigious competition more »

The prizes for the Decanter World Wine Awards has been announced. In recent year's wineries like Clos de Gat, Recanati, Carmel, Adir and Trio hav won Regional Trophies and one year Carmel won the International Trophy. This year no Israeli winery received a gold medal, but this a competition where a silver medal counts for something.

Decanter WWA is arguably the most prestigious wine competition of them all because it is run by Decanter Magazine, held in London and the judges are some the world's leading wine critics.

Many Israeli wineries sent wines to the competition and received either Bronze Medals, Commended Certificates, or nothing at all.
