New distribution company more »

The Shaked company and the Golan Heights Winery have agreed to form a new distribution company to distribute the wines of both companies within Israel.

The Shaked family are owners of the Derech Ha'Yayin chain of wine stores, owners of Trio Winery, part owners of Recanati Winery and arguably the main importer of wines from around the world to Israel. The Golan Heights Winery is the third largest winery in Israel and the main owners of the Galil Mountain Winery.

They have a shared past. The Golan Heights Winery was founded in 1983 and brought about the quality revolution in Israel. They chose Magash Shaked to be their distribution company, and Shaked played a large part in the success of the Yarden, Gamla and Golan (now renamed Hermon) brands within Israel. They parted in 2000, when Shalom Blayer, then CEO, decided that the Golan Heights Winery would form its own distribution company.

Now Shaked, led by CEO, Uri Shaked and the Golan Heights Winery, led by CEO Anat Levy, have decided to form this distribution company in order to cut costs and to provide a larger portfolio. The new company will distribute wines from the following Israeli wineries: Golan Heights Winery & Galil Mountain alongside Recanati Winery, Trio, Avidan and Tzora Vineyards. These Israeli wineries will in turn be distributed alongside Shaked's formidable list of imported wines with famous brands and quality wines from all over the world
