Tabor Winery was founded in 1999 by four vineyard owners situated in Kfar Tabor (Tabor village), in the shadow of Mount Tabor in the Lower Galilee.

The Tabor wines are divided into five main labels. Har (meaning Mountain) is the entry level. Pnimim are sparkling wines. Adama is the mid-range label. The second label wines have names like Sufa (storm), Ram (thunder), Lahava (flame), Keshet (rainbow), Shahar (dawn) and Zohar. The prestige wine is Limited Edition made from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.

Tabor wines have recently had great success gaining international recognition at the highest level. The Tabor Limited Edition was the highest scored Israeli wine of 2015 by the Wine Spectator. The wine was awarded the Critics Choice Award and Tabor was the only Israeli winery invited to take part in the New York  Wine Experience open only to the leading 250 wineries in the world.

The Tabor Adama Merlot scored 93 points in the Wine Enthusiast, then the highest score achieved by an Israeli winery in this magazine.

The Har (Mt. Tabor) Chardonnay was selected as one of the Top 100 Best Value Wines in the World by the Wine Enthusiast; an extremely rare achievement for an Israeli wine.

Finally, in the Best Value 2016 competition in Israel, Tabor won five Gold Medal Trophies, by some margin the best performance by an Israeli winery in this annual competition.

The managing director of the winery is Oren Sela, from one of the original grower families. The viticulturist is Michal Akerman anmd the winemaker is Arieh Nesher. The wines are distributed in Israel by IBBLS, importers of Diageo (Johnnie Walker etc) to Israel, in the USA by Royal Wine Corp., and in the UK by Kedem Europe.
