The New Israeli Wine Guide has been launched at the Derech Hayayin Wine Store, Hashomanaim Street, Tel Aviv. It has been written by Yair Gat, wine critic and wine journalist for the newspaper Israel Hayom, and Gal Zohar, the international sommelier, wine consultant and wine judge. This is the third year the guide has been published. Wine industry veteran Adam Montefiore wrote the foreword.  The Channel 2 television station referred to this guide as "Not just a guide, but the Bible for wine lovers."

The new guide, as yet in Hebrew only, but which they hope to translate to English, is larger and with more substance than in previous years. There are 64 pages this year. The guide costs 55 shekels to buy on the internet at the following site: It is also available in the Derech Hayayin chain of wine shops. It is also a more interesting read with sections on history, the wine regions and anecdotal sections on certain winemakers and wines. This is in addition to scores and tasting notes for wines in 20 different categories. The two experts tasted 170 wines to arrive at their selection.
