The Terravino Competition reached its climax at the Leonardo Hotel in Ashdod. The Terravino Mediteranean International Wine & Spirit Challenge is Israel’s only international wine tasting competition held annually. It is organized each year by Haim Gan and Ish Anavim (www.grape-man.com), an independent wine education and culture center in Jaffa. 615 wines were sent to this year’s competition. 328 samples were sent from Israel and the remainder from 22 other countries from around the world. 25 Double Gold Medals were awarded and ten of them were for Israeli wines.
