New label and new concept more »

Rich Fuchelli is a start-up, ‘negociant’ Israeli  wine company, sourcing wines from the vineyards of the Holy Land.  They market wines under their own label: Ya'yin (meaning  ‘wine’). The style of writing in the attractive logo reflects the ancient sources. The Hebrew word Ya'yin, is mentioned constantly throughout the Bible and is the root of the western word ‘wine’.

Ronhi Shang Arieli is the owner and founder of the Rich Fuchelli. She has 25 years' experience working in the Food & Beverage industry in Israel and has always loved wine. Her grandfather was born in Shiraz, Persia, the city of poets, flowers and wine. He was a wine producer and connoisseur. She now combines her heritage and business experience with her passion and hobby.

Yayin wines have already been exported to the USA and the Far East and the first wines are shortly to launched in Israel. Shang Arieli explains that with her exported wines she wishes to connect the long history of winemaking in the Holy Land to the technologically advanced Israel of today, and showcase the quality of wines made here. The objective of the wines marketed in Israel is to introduce and educate about interesting new varieties and innovative blends.

There are two wines to be launched in Israel:
Yayin Marselan 2015 and Yayin Blue Sea 2016. The Marselan is a reasonably new grape in Israel. It is a Mediterranean variety from France and is a cross between Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache. It appears very well suited to the Israeli climate. The label shows an amphora and mosaic, two symbols of ancient Israel.  The Yayin Blue Sea is a unique Mediterranean blend which is a study of Syrah in all its forms. It is a blend of Syrah, Shiraz and Petite Sirah. (Syrah is the French clone and Shiraz is the Australian clone of the same variety.) The light blue label brings to mind the Mediterranean Sea.
