Recanati Winery has launched two wines, Bittuni and Marawi. These are indigenous Holy Land varieties, grown in the West Bank by a Palestinian grower and made by an Israeli winemaker at an Israeli winery situated on the Israeli coast, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, between Haifa and Tel Aviv. Recanati Bittuni is the first release of this wine and the first ever recorded use of this variety for a varietal wine. This is the third vintage of the Recanati Marawi, which was first launched with the 2014 vintage.
Recanati Winery was founded in 2000. It is owned by Lenny Recanati and Uri Shaked. The CEO is Noam Yakobi and the Chief Winemaker is Gil Shatzberg. It produces roughly a million bottles a year. The main labels are the prestige Special Reserve, Reserve, Upper Galilee, and the entry level Yasmin. The initial launch of Marawi created great interest in the international press.
