The Israel Export Institute has announced the formation of a Wines of Israel campaign that will take place in the USA for the next four years. The program has been launched by the Export Institute in partnership with The Ministry of the Economy, Ministry of Agriculture, and the Wines & Grapes Board. The funding will amount to a million dollars a year, of which the government will put forward two dollars to every dollar provided by the wineries. At least 25 wineries have signed up to be part of this.
There will be a committee to oversee the project. This is made up of representatives of nine wineries, three importers in the United States and representatives from the partners, the Export Institute, Ministries of Economy and Agriculture, and the Wine Board. The participating wineries voted for the wineries to represent them on the committee.
