Gilles Assouline is leaving Barkan Winery after three years as CEO. He took over from ex CEO and founder of Barkan, Shmuel Boxer, who is now Mayor of Ness Ziona. An 
announcement from the parent company, Tempo Beverages, said that Amir Borenstein, part owner of Tempo and Chairman of Barkan Winery, would take over as acting CEO.
Barkan Winery is the largest winery in Israel. It produces the wines under the Barkan and Segal labels. Tempo Beverages is the largest brewery in Israel and the second largest total beverage company. It produces or imports and markets major brands such as Goldstar, Heineken, Chivas Regal, Pepsi Cola, Perrier, as well as Barkan & Segal wines.
Barkan – Segal is situated at Hulda. Ido Lewinsohn is the head winemaker.
