Julia Harding MW has tasted Israeli wines on behalf of jancisrobinson.com.  The tasting was part of Kedem Europe’s new program to market Israeli wines outside the kosher bubble. Kedem Europe is the largest importer of Israeli wine in the UK. They represent 25 Israeli wineries. The CEO is Morris Herzog, of the Herzog family that are owners of Royal Wine in America. They have been making wine over eight generations in Slovakia, New York and California. They are the largest importers and distributors of kosher wines in the world.

Jancis Robinson MW is the most famous wine critic and wine writer in the world today. The Oxford Companion To Wine, The World Atlas of Wine and Wine Grapes are some of the classics that no wine library will be without. Julia Harding is a very well respected Master of Wine in her own right, who works at jancisrobinson.com, and assists Jancis Robinson. She is a co-author of Wine Grapes.

The leading wines were Psagot Chardonnay and Flam Noble.
They were followed by 1848 Winery, Castel, Covenant Israel and Yatir, each with two wines in equal second place.
Julia Harding gave a few comments about Israeli wine. These included a few compliments but also some criticisms. Anyone wanted to read the tasting notes in detail needs to subscribe to www.jancisrobinson.com
