Two Israeli wineries have won Trophies in the Decanter World Wine Awards 2013. This is the annual wine competition organized by Decanter Magazine in London. It has gained a reputation for being one of the best organized and most respected wine competitions there are.
The winning wines are Adir a 2010, produced by Adir Winery at Ramat Dalton in the Upper Galilee and the Yarden Heights Wine 2011 produced by the Golan Heights Winery at Katzrin.
The Adir wine won the Regional Trophy for best Middle East, Far East and Asia Red wine over 15 pounds.
The Yarden wine also won the Regional Trophy for the best Middle East, Far East and Asia Sweet wine over 15 pounds. Adir won the Regional Trophy last year too and the Golan Heights Winery has been Israel’s main prize winner over the last 30 years.
A number of other Israeli wineries including Alexander, Amphorae, Binyamina, Clos de Gat, Dalton, Har Bracha, Recanati, and Vitkin entered winning recognition ranging from Commended to Silver Medals.
